Current work is removing old sewer lines and re-tie into existing lines. Email went out to impacted houses.
Work now through the end of the year is replacing the duct bank
Second crew is being added to this job for new water installation on the second phase. The goal being to finish up faster than 2 years.
Questions/Comments:
Can there be more communication on the detour? Cars are confused and turning down 500 block of Terrace which is already busy with cars parked. Also, a lot of tractor trailers are driving through the neighborhood.
BJ: They have had specific conversations with Sysco to only drive on Mediterranean. If you see a Sysco truck in the neighborhood, call Rockefeller’s and they will re-addresswith Sysco.
Suggestion to make Terrace and Carolina one-way streets during this time to help the traffic situation.
Recommend signing up for email updates on the project website.

Rosemary Wilson- City Council Candidate District 5. Spoke for 5 minutes.

Yard sale – Over 30 homes included.
Spring Fling – Over 200 attended.

"Shadowlawn Day" City Proclamation
Jim Flannigan was a major contributor in creating a historic timeline of our neighborhood. He attended the Spring Fling and the very last Surf Club since ECSC created wheelchair access. Mr. Flannigan, unfortunately, passed away recently. Thank you to BJ for hosting a memorial service for Mr. Flannigan. A 2 hour interview with Jim was recorded and will be included in our Shadowlawn History book. The Board thanked Jim's wife and daughter, Deb and Whisper, for their attendance.
Meghan read proclamation that was read at the Spring Fling by Mayor Dyer.
Civic League will request additional copies of the proclamation

Welcome Home Committee- CMD Joel Nogle – 9-month deployment
Flags lined from Norfolk and Rudee all the way to his front door to welcome him home.
Civic League will replace small flags for the larger ones
Shadowlawn Surf Club- 6 weeks this summer- 2 week with free pizza
2 were cancelled due to weather.
Thank you to VB Surf Sessions, Tony, for donating boards and lessons.
National Night Out
Fire department, animal control, police chief were present with numerous vehicles.
Glazed and Infuzed donut truck provided treats.
The Civic League provided pizzas to attendees due to our food truck cancelling the day of the event.
Over 130 members in attendance.
Shadowlawn Booze Cruise
Sold 120 tickets in 40 hours.
Moved to a larger boat the day of.
Moving forward, capacity will be 149 people. Future cruises will be scheduled in the Spring with a Fall rain date. Official date will be announced at first meeting of 2025.

Businesses are bringing in staff, alcohol and food. Please participate in all stops so we can continue to have this event with support from local restaurants.

Motion to always have Shadowfest the Saturday before Halloween with a rain date of Sunday.

9. Bylaws Update
Shadow Lawn Height Civic League, Inc DBA Shadowlawn Civic League (officially requested last night through SEC)
Bylaws will be emailed out at least 2 weeks prior to our next meeting for review.
May 2,1965 this body was established
Changes for consideration (to be discussed later)
Term limits is a change, 3 consecutive 2 year terms or 6 consecutive 1 year term.
Currently no way to remove an officer, will add that to the by-laws
There are no audits in the by-laws
Current executive board is 4 members. Proposing 3 additional spots, east representative, west representative, and an at large representative.
